Behavior vs. Advice
We have all heard it. You walk into your dentist’s office, sit in the chair, and hear your dental hygienist ask “Have you been brushing and flossing daily? When was your last dental visit?” All relevant and helpful questions, but how many people sit in the chair and lie? As it turns out, quite a few. Even though we know what actions are needed to protect our oral health, many people continue to lack healthy habits. Less than 50% of people in the U.S. floss daily, and a whopping 34% of men and 14% of women do not brush two times a day for 2 minutes. It is never a good idea to neglect your dental health. As new evidence emerges connecting your oral health to everything from heart healthto dementia, it has become even more imperative. Take the time to care for your teeth, and your 75 year-old self will still be flashing a gorgeous grin!
