How to Find Your ID Card

“How do I get my ID card?” or “I’ve lost my ID card, how do I get a new one?” are among the most frequently asked questions for any medical, dental or vision insurance company.

Here’s how you get your Delta Dental ID card (printed or virtual)

Let’s start with a little secret: You don’t really need an ID card to obtain dental or vision services. (Yes, Delta Dental of Arkansas also offers vision insurance for individuals/families and small, medium and large businesses.)

In today’s age of digital recordkeeping, it’s enough to tell your dentist your Social Security number and that you have coverage with Delta Dental of Arkansas. With that information, they’ll find you in the system. Many offices still ask for an ID card because, well, that’s what everybody is used to. In the past, everybody needed paper documents.

Keep that in mind when you do find yourself in a dentist office and realize you left your ID card at home.

Get Your Printed ID Card in the Mail

If you’re a new Delta Dental of Arkansas member or your coverage has changed, you’ll automatically receive a new, printed Delta Dental ID card. It will be mailed to the address we have on file for you, typically within 2 weeks of your coverage start date.

The ID card contains plan information like your member ID number and group name. Your dentist’s office will want to know this information to confirm your benefits and file your claim with us. (Although, as explained above, they should be able to find you in the system with just your Social Security number.)

But there are other, faster ways to get your ID card when you need it.

Get Your ID Card Virtually through the Member Portal or Mobile App

You can quickly get a virtual ID card using the Delta Dental member portal or mobile app.

Member Portal

1. Go to https://www.deltadentalar.com/ and click Login/Register on the blue ribbon in the upper right corner.
2. As a first-time user, you’ll need your name and Social Security number to create an account.
   
3. Once you’re logged in, you see your card details. With a simple click, you can print it as well.


 

Mobile App

1. Download the Delta Dental mobile app from the App Store or Google Play and create an account or sign in.
   


2. Your ID card is right there on the home page. You can email it to your dentist directly from the app or add it to your digital wallet.
