Reality is Calling
How often during the day do you take a moment to think about your health and the possible risks you are taking with your daily habits? Personally, I tend to take my body for granted and assume it will never betray me. This, folks, is a BAD idea! I can’t tell you how wrong it is to consider yourself one of the “lucky” ones who won’t suffer the consequences of bad choices. If I smoke, I won’t get oral or lung cancer. If I don’t exercise, I won’t gain weight. If I have high glucose levels, I won’t develop diabetes.Working professionals can be the worst offenders! Often you will find yourself working long hours and eating out because you didn’t make the time to pack healthy meals. Working professionals: Consider this your wakeup call! Stress, long days, unhealthy eating and lack of exercise are all risk factors to developing diabetes! Diabetes is a chronic disease that has to be managed daily. It has been linked to gum disease and other chronic conditions. Your body knows what is best for you so if you don’t curb your habits soon, your body will do it for you! Take a good look at your daily routine and consider ways that you can make healthy changes without drastically disrupting your day. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, ordering the chicken sandwich without mayo for lunch, and even brushing your teeth twice daily are healthy habits you can adopt to be one step closer to a healthy lifestyle!
