Open Smile Season: Teeth Tips for Hunters
Every season, hunters grab their gear, don camouflage and head outdoors to bag their game. But there’s one thing huntsmen overlook.
Many hunter-gatherers, both ancient and recent, have been noted for their high rates of tooth decay. Spare your smile — prep for your hunting trip with these teeth tips:
1. Pack dental essentials.
You’ll never see any animals if they’re hiding from your bad breath. Bring 2 toothbrushes (one in case of emergency), toothpaste and floss. And don’t forget a full water bottle to stay hydrated! Want more than the essentials? Check out these glamping gadgets.
2. Schedule a checkup.
It’s important to see your dentist before you leave. Even if your mouth feels fine, dental issues can wear camouflage. Fortunately, your dentist can spot signs of tooth damage before they become worse.
3. Bring real tools.
When hunter instincts kick into high gear, we tend to use our teeth to tear and open things. These actions can lead to tooth chips and cracks, making it open season for tooth decay to hunt healthy smiles. Bring a folding pocketknife as your tool instead.
Now that your grin is ready to get game, hunt on with that healthy smile!
