Looking for some fun out in the Arkansas sun? Tap into your wild side and experience animals up close and personal!
Little Rock’s Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center occupies 3.4 acres and supplies amazing wildlife viewing opportunities. The nature center offers a variety of programs open to the public on a regular basis.
Here are our 3 favorite activities:
Meet your critter neighbors in a safe and comfortable setting. A Nature Center Educator will not only introduce you to one of the many residents of Arkansas but also teach you about the unique characteristics of these critters. You can come and enjoy this program every third Sunday of the month at 2 p.m.
Put on your listening ears and grab your hiking boots! During Wild Tales Story Time, a Nature Center Educator reads an animal book, followed by a guided discovery walk outdoors. Keep your eye out for basking water turtles, butterflies, migrating pelicans and native plants! This program is available every Wednesday from 10 – 11 a.m.
What do you call an alligator with a vest on? An investaGATOR! J Yes, there are alligators in Arkansas — it’s the largest reptile in the state. Learn where they live and what they eat every Friday from 2 – 2:30 p.m.
